~This Week's Question:
Q: Where is the best destination reading spot for you? (Where do you like to go to read other then your home)

~My Answer:

That would have to be my local library's park. It is close enough for me to walk to and it has all these pretty trees on the hill (its like a bowl..the park that is...well there is one side for a soccer field and then the playground further on and then there is a side with a dog park and just a bunch of grass and trees. I usually go to the bowl shaped side) that give off shade. I like hearing the peaceful bustle of the people there and then the sun and shade and sometimes slight wind just give off a perfect reading vibe. Now, if I lived somewhere like Cali it would be the beach. I LOVE the beach! I recently went on vacation there and reading there was the best! The sound of the ocean, the sand...ah! Pure bliss!

~This Week's Question:
What is your preferred reading format? Hardcover, eBooks, paperback etc?

~My Answer:

My favorite format is hardcover. I am very aware how technology is taking over. Everything is at the touch of a screen. You can download any book in seconds...SECONDS! It's crazy! And even though I find it very convenient its just not the same as a hardcover copy! The joy of opening a brand new published book with its smell, touch and the awesome sound of the cover's turning. I know my apple devices have the page cover thing too but its just not the same and will never be. I like the kindle because you can read in the dark without light but.....you don't need to worry about your book running out of battery ;P

I like paperbacks too I just like hardcovers better because they are more durable therefore being more immortal. They last longer. I swear if they take away all physical copies and transfer everything to device I will start a rebellion! It would be one more step into the dystopia format going on today. *shivers* I may not be one kick ass girl with bad ass combat skills but I will die fighting that cause ;D

~This Week's Question:
Activity: Spine Poetry. Create a line of poetry with your book spines (take a picture). Not feeling creative? Tell us about your favorite poem.

~My Answer:

First off...WOW! This is my first #FF in MONTHS!! It's crazy I know...I have definitely been slacking! So sorry guys! :D Same with #WOW's. Those will be starting up again too I promise! Its summer and I have more time on my hands!! :)
I am not a HUGE fan of poetry and I am terrible at it! Seriously. The last poem I wrote was atrocious to say the least. I mean I guess if I put more effort into it I might not be half as bad but its definitely not something that flows easily for me. So, that being said I am just gonna tell you about my favorite poems.
Where I am not talented in poetry, my cousin and best friend is! I love getting to read her poetry. Its amazing and so true to her. Its brilliant!
I do have a favorite poem that is well known but...I can't remember the title or author. Ya, I suck. I could point it out if I saw it but I can't recite it. It has to do with a dark lake and a woman lost. Its darker and a little creepy just because of the setting the author portrays and the words he uses but its rather beautiful. Something about the fluidly and haunting tone gets to me everytime!

~This Week's Question:

Have you ever read a book that you thought you would hate -- ? Did you end up hating it? Did you end up loving it? Or would you never do that?

~My Answer:

Yes!! On many occasions. Each time its a bit different. Normally its a more tragic story when I think I will LOVE the book and THEN hating it. :/ Sad but true story. But the question isn't about that now is it?
Ok so for one I thought I would hate and then LOVED would have to be.....Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. I hated the idea of a girl who committed suicide leaving people recordings of why she did it. It sounded so morbid and wrong. Then my cousin read it and told me it was a must and people...it is a MUST!!! It was SO SO good!! <3
And for one that I thought I would hate and indeed end up hating would be....Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater. Totally dislike that book. Didn't finish the series. I had already bought the whole series when I started reading reviews so I started it very wary and ya...I had good reason to. Sorry all you Wolves of Mercy Falls fans!! Wish I could say different :/

~This Week's Question:

What is your guilty pleasure as far as reading? Is it a genre, or is it a certain type of book?

~My Answer:

Ooooo...guilty pleasures....Hmm I think that would have to be contemporary at this moment. Its actually torture. I guess I'm just in this phase wear (yes you hear it all the time) I think I am "forever alone". ;P So because I am one lonely little bird (I know its for the best at the time...right now boys have absolutely no maturity at the age of 16 but hey!! I AM a girl!!) I like reading other's happy endings and the yummy boys I wish I could have. Then of course after finishing the books and all the happy feelings go away I am left depressed...until I start the next one. ;D
I also enjoy fantasy and historical fiction but I don't read them often. Its kind of like those treats you allow yourself to have every now and then. I like to savor them. I don't read them often so when I do its always ten times better. I don't have so many books to compare them to I guess.

What is the first thing you would do if you woke up to find yourself in your favorite book?

~My Answer:

SCREAM!!! Hahaha maybe not...if I ended up in the Wyldewood screaming would only get me killed (The Iron Fey Books). I would probably be freaking out on the inside and wondering if I had what it took to survive...then find Puck and give him a smooch ;D

~This Week's Question:

What is the last book that kept you up late into the night just to finish it?

~My Answer:

To be honest, lately...all of them! I am SO far behind on my reading and I have had no choice but to stay up till the am to finish or get half way only to stay up late the next day to start all over or finish. Its terrible I know but because I started slacking for a bit...this is my consequence.
But, because I feel like that wasn't the right answer....The last book that kept me up till the late am because I simply was so enthralled with the book that the mere thought of putting it down and stopping for some little shut eye was simply out of reach was Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill and Splintered by A.G. Howard! One absolutely mind blowing (Splintered) and the other so freaking fantastic and adorable I just HAD to finish it! (Meant To Be)

~This Week's Question:

What have you learned from book blogging that you didn't know before about the publishing industry?

~My Answer:
One thing would be that their are SO many publishing companies! Like seriously. I thought maybe a handleful and I guess techniqually there is. There are a handful of MAJOR industries but beyond Harper Collins, Random House, Penguin, Macmillan and Sourcebooks there are many upon many publishers. And then!! Upon that, there are so many sub publishers linked off the big publishing companies: Philomol, HarperTeen, etc. When I first found this out I got to admit....I was overwhelmed. I mean, how do I even begin to know you to contact!!? O.o I had to create a binder listing all the publishers and under them the sub genres...without that binder...I would be lost hahaha

What about you?

What is the last book that made you cry? Tell us about the scene...

~My Answer:
Ah! The last scene I cried was in The Fault in Our Stars. And it wasn't a scene...it was the whole last 100 pages. I cried like a baby. Seriously..I don't think I have ever cried so much since I was a baby. I died. My makeup was crazy and...my eyes burned the next day. I cried out all my tears. No joke. But then because John Greene is an absolute genius...I was laughing through my tears also. So basically I was a total mess that sounded like a dying moose haha.

~This Week's Question:

Activity! Who do you want to be? If you could choose any character from a book. What do you think that character looks like and what do you have in common?

~My Answer:
Hmmm.....I think I would like to be either Lena from Delirium by Lauren Oliver or Seraphina from Wander Dust by Michelle Warren. Lena is the kind of girl who has always done what she is told. She follows the rules and colors inside the lines but when someone gets her to let go she does and she has more fun than she has ever had and starts thinking outside the box. She loves with her whole heart and she never gives up. When she is given a task she does the best she can do even if its outside her comfort zone. I'd say some of that is like me. I have always been the good little girl my parents wanted me to be. I was/am a good girl in school and stick to the rules but I want adventure. I want to find my Alex who will show me to live to be crazy at times and think outside the rules (not too much just enough to have fun and not get into trouble...ok ya, some trouble ;D) I do love (just my family at the time haha #foreveralone ;)) with my whole heart and never give up. I tend to push myself and never give up no matter how hard it is or even if its uncomfortable at first..if someone I like wants me to do it I will do it. Lena has brown hair and brown eyes and is kinda short. ;) (I am so not short lol)

I'd like to be Seraphina because well...she is kinda a lot like Lena but she has always had a want for adventure and is kinda the trouble kid even though she doesn't mean it. She does get good grades though. She is kind, loyal and loving. I mostly want to be her because she is a wander and that is my dream super power/paranormal ability! ;) She also has the same features as Lena but of course slightly different lol

~This Week's Question:

Do you mind books with similar ideas to other books? Similar concepts, backgrounds, retellings or pulled-to-publish fanfic?

~My Answer:
I would have to say no. I don't mind. Most things are so alike already. Books are inspired by everything so you are bound to have a few repeats in ideas. I mean for crying out loud! Like the question states...don't we read re-tellings?? Now, when they are pretty much exactly alike and I can pick out scenes and characters then...yes. Authors are pro's at being unoriginal originals! They can take other ideas and make it their own! Twists, turns, all done really well where you can see resemblance but not enough to count out for. Those re-tellings, they are so recognizable! But the other puts their own unique touch to them that makes them a wonderful original! I mean, how many tragic romances do we read? Love triangles? The kick-ass heroine? Dystopians?
Everything has it's resemblance but a good book is a good book....you definitely can't complain! ;D

~This Week's Question:

What is a deal breaker for you in a book? For example, do you abhor love triangles? Or can't deal with bad editing?

~My Answer:
I hate cliches. Bad girl who rules the school and is out for the protagonist. Every now and then maybe but it has to have a strong story line and characters that really bring up the story. Because they are just that...cliche. Another thing is the answer to last weeks question..I hate when the authors go above and beyond with descriptive words...too above and too beyond where all its seems is like they are trying to make you notice their smarticles ;) And also when they use too many metaphors and when those metaphors get weird.

~This Week's Question:

What writing device or trick most irritates you when reading a book? For example, if an author employs an omnipotent narrator that is sometimes considered bad form.

~My Answer:
Hmmm....I don't really know how to answer this for I don't completely understand the question but....I will say some of the things I don't like authors to do is over-do the vocabulary and metaphors.
Bigger words are helpful in books. It gives a more vibrant word that helps you understand the situation and emotions showing through at that time. It helps give you a better understanding and I don't mind making a trip to the dictionary every now and then but when I can barely understand what going on because of all the crazy elite words...thats a major no-no in my book. Authors don't need to look smart...too smart. Its not a contest. Yes, its literature but don't over do it.
As for the metaphors...another thing for further understanding and coloring the pages for expression and mood setting but...again....too much is too much. One example would have to be Maggie Stiefvater's Wolves of Mercy Falls...She had both. Not too much with the vocab but the metaphors...omg yes!! I'ts probably the main reason why I didn't enjoy it and left the series be and afraid to read anything else from her. The over-the-top moment for that first book was when she was comparing the character to a leaking womb. Uhmmm gross! Too far! There is a happy-medium for these two subjects.
This is what gets me up on my soap box. It is the biggest pet peeve I have with writing lol

~This Week's Question:

When you step out of your USUAL genre what do you like to read? Best books in that genre?

~My Answer:
Uhmm..I don't have a USUAL genre but I guess at the beginning of my reading I tended to stay to the popular...you know the vampires, werewolves, dystopian, etc. But as soon I stepped out of that as a book obssessor and blogger I began to venture out to books like steampunk (best=Destiny's Fire by Trisha Wolfe), contemporary(best=Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins), sci-fi(best=Hourglass by Mara McEntire), psychological thriller(best=The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer)...and the list goes on! Of course they are all Young-Adult. New Adult would have to be Easy by Tammara Webber. I haven't read any Adult but I want to but stick to the contemporary, sci-fi, and urban fantasy. Someday!! :D

Uhmm haha I'm not sure. The ones that first come to mind are Anna Dressed in Blood and Shattered Souls. I haven't even read Anna but the covers are enough to give me the chills! *shivers* ;D It seems like a great creepy read that I totally need to invest in sometime soon! I chose Shattered Souls because it deals with exorcisms. Creep right!? There is this one scene where she is followed into a parking lot and she gets slashes on her body and bruises and all that from this macho ghostly man! That my friends gave me the creeps! such a great book!! <3 In some parts it is definitely Halloween worthy and others it is sweet and romantic! Invest! haha

Way too easy! So many books are worth their hypes! Some, unfortunately aren't like last week, but!!! Thankfully I have had a much better outcome for worth vs not worth the hype! Let's see....Shattered Souls by Mary Lindsey, Divergent by Veronica Roth, Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins, Cindy by Marissa Meyer, The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkins, Dearly, Departed by Lia Habel, Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins, Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins....And that's just a sliver.....I can go on!!!!!! Ooooo...Do I even want to say? Ok...just no tomato throwing and dissing kk?
So the book I totally did not like that everybody seemed to LOVE was....Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater.
Ya, ya, go ahead and booo or judge! I knoew its going to happen. The saddest part? I bought the whole series ready to jump in and love it and...wasted my money. It was boring, the love was weird, too fast and bordering on stalkerish. I just wasn't feeling it. The metaphors and similes and all those great things was....gross at one point and ...almost unnecessary at times. Idk I just didn't like it at all and I feel like a total black sheep but oh well.
