Not even Tess’s power to see the future can help the girls as they set off on their desperate journey, but she keeps having visions of a man wielding a sword. And when she finally meets him, Tess has no idea how to handle the magnetic attraction she feels for him, or the elusive call she hears from the heart of the Dragonswood.

Nightshade by Andrea Cremer

Nightshade ( Nitshade Trilogy #1)
Author: Andrea Cremer
Date Published: October 19, 2010
Source: Bought
Page Numbers: 452
Publisher: Philomel Publishing (Penguin Young Readers)
Calla Tor has always known her destiny: After graduating from the Mountain School, she'll be the mate of sexy alpha wolf Ren Laroche and fight with him, side by side, ruling their pack and guarding sacred sites for the Keepers. But when she violates her masters' laws by saving a beautiful human boy out for a hike, Calla begins to question her fate, her existence, and the very essence of the world she has known. By following her heart, she might lose everything- including her own life. Is forbidden love worth the ultimate sacrifice? {Goodreads}
Werewolves??? HOTT! haha I honestly had never read a werewolf book and this was the perfect book to get started on. Andrea Cremer's writing was a little bit off at sometimes: jumping from one event to the other, not fully explaining something, and it could being really confusing but it the end she always pulled througgh. Everything was eventually explained. I loved the world she created and the background she based it off of. Oh and the cover!!! *sings in a high (on pitch) not&* BEEE(a)-UUUTIFUL!!!

Calla had been lied to her whole life. They were taught that the Searchers were the enemies, love was decided for them, that they (the Keepers) only wanted what was best for them. But no, all they wanted was power, the Guardians ( werewolves) were only their body guards. This was only found out after Shay, the boy she saved from a vicious bear attack (never thinking she would every sea him again), swoops into her life. And it seems he plays a bigger part in her life than she would have liked.

She can't help but fall for Shay (which I couldn't either). But why? He was only a human....or maybe not.....
I truly did love this book. Romance, action, frustration, and complications. The lies of the world keep you turning each page. You find yourself wondering if your assumptions were right, and also hoping you weren't right. The Keepers are so cruel you really end up hating them. I love both Ren's (the guy Calla is supposed to marry to create a new pack, who she also has an attraction to and is really cocky, cocky but cute! lol ) and Call's pack...well  most of them.

Calla is such a boss. She kicks butt like no other and (honestly) can be quite aggravating but that is what caused me to like her I think. She was so head strong and make women proud as she stands as the alpha female! :D I loved her brother Ansel too.

Shay is just a human...kind of...sorry you have to read to really find out if I'm bluffing or not hehe ;) He is cute, funny, and a pain in the butt sometimes. I often see..Tam Ren! Team Ren! but honestly I really liked Shay alot more. He is so much more easy going and nice. He truly cares for Calla and never has you doubting his love unlike Ren.

If you are looking for a kick-butt, love triangle, mysterious read with the whole werewolf thing going on then this is definitely your read right here. I recommend this book to you all. Which by the way is only the first in a trilogy!! Wolfsbane is already out but Bloodrose doesn't come out till January..poopy right!??? :/

Oh!! and this isn't your ordinary werewolf book. You'd be surprised how many twists and turns and....lies.....you have been told!! ;) I love all of what Miss Cremer gave us!! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!! :D

Waiting on Wednesday(10)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme host by Jill over at Breaking The Spine. This spotlights upcoming books that haven't yet been released yet but those that we are dying to read! This week I'm waiting on.......
Bloodrose (Nightshade trilogy #3) by Andrea Cremer
Release Date: January 3, 2012

The Ultimate Sacrifice.

Calla has always welcomed war. But now that the final battle is upon her, there’s more at stake than fighting. There’s saving Ren, even if it incurs Shay’s wrath. There’s keeping Ansel safe, even if he’s been branded a traitor. There’s proving herself as the pack’s alpha, facing unnamable horrors, and ridding the world of the Keepers’ magic once and for all. And then there’s deciding what to do when the war ends. If Calla makes it out alive, that is.

In the final installment of the Nightshade trilogy, New York Times bestselling author Andrea Cremer creates a novel with twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat until its final pages. A dynamic end to this breathtaking trilogy {Goodreads}
I just finished Wolfsbane (#2) last week and loved it! I love this series and hated Wolfsbane's ending!! It was a cliff hanger! I can't wait to see what happens in the final book! Calla, please pick Shay!!!! #TeamShay
Sorry Ren, but Shay is the obvious better choice!! You had your chance! ;)

Hereafter by Tara Hudson

Hereafter
Author: Tara Hudson
Date Published: June 7, 2011
Source: Bought
Publisher: Harper Teen
Pages: 404
Can there truly be love after death?
Drifting in the dark waters of a mysterious river, the only thing Amelia knows for sure is that she's dead. With no recollection of her past life—or her actual death—she's trapped alone in a nightmarish existence. All of this changes when she tries to rescue a boy, Joshua, from drowning in her river. As a ghost, she can do nothing but will him to live. Yet in an unforgettable moment of connection, she helps him survive.
Amelia and Joshua grow ever closer as they begin to uncover the strange circumstances of her death and the secrets of the dark river that held her captive for so long. But even while they struggle to keep their bond hidden from the living world, a frightening spirit named Eli is doing everything in his power to destroy their newfound happiness and drag Amelia back into the ghost world . . . forever.
Wow what can I say about this book? Well one I love Tara Hudson's writing style its so beautiful and easy to follow every thought and feeling. This book was about one girl name Amelia who can't remember anything about her or who she was except her name and that she is dead. Ouch right?? That would totally suck to die and not remember anythnng. She ends up finding herself floating in a small lake everyday after having "nightmares". Poor Amelia has it hard. I felt for her throughout the whole book. She is caught in the in between not completely dead but sure as heck not alive. She has been lonely and haunted for a long time until she meets Joshua. {Goodreads}

Joshua..I loved this boy! He was so sweet and down to earth and adorable. After reading several love triangle or the bad boy types I loved having Joshua added to my book life. He is so funny, and sweet and oh so totally charming when with Amelia. Because Amelia saved him after he recked and almost drowned to death he can now see her. The only one who can see, talk and touch her.

Omg their touch! That was sooo cute I loved how Tara Hudson created the spark/heat that they fealt every time they touched. Altogether this book was a great read and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a cute love story with a ghostly twist. I fell in love with this book and can't wait till Arise comes out!! :)

****WARNING!! Content may be spoilery!
"I always would choose the hereafter, when it was a hereafter spent with him."

“See you soon,” I whispered. I bit my lip; and, in a moment of sheer abandon, I added, “I think I might . . . you know . . . love you, by the way.”
“Too,” Joshua whispered back groggily. “Love.”

Interview with Kai Sterdam

Hey everyone, today I am interviewing (the hot, amazing, and hilarious) Kai from Taryn Browning's Dark Seeker. I will be asking him some random questions and he will answer, basic interview right?? Lol well her goes nothing!! :D
~~~~~~~~~~***~~~~~~~~~~
Welcome to Girls on YA Books Kai! How does it feel to be here?
This is my first interview, so it should be interesting.
Is Kai your actual name or is it short for something?
Yup, I was born with the name Kai Andrew Sterdam.
Do you remember much of your childhood? (If so what are some of your "brightest" memories of?)
You could say I was a normal teenager with an average childhood. You know, single family home in the burbs, two parents and a dog. I played baseball for my high school and got pretty good grades. I wasn’t the most popular but I certainly wasn’t an outcast. I was on course to graduate with a scholarship for baseball. I never had any siblings. But I guess that would just give me someone else to have left behind.
What was it like the day you were changed?
Hot. I lived in Tucson so other than the monsoon season, it was hot and dry. My friends and I were downtown. We checked out a few shops and grabbed something to eat, Mexican, I think. I remember buying some outdated cassette tape *laughs* I don’t even think anyone owns cassette players anymore. I don’t really remember much from the actual change, which is probably a good thing.
How hard was it to adapt to the world after you were given a heart?
Very, as you know. I did some horrible things trying to adjust to my newly granted humanity. After living so many years without a soul, suddenly feeling again was very overwhelming. It was hard to deny the part of me that was innately evil for so long.
If you had the chance to go back to the day you were "changed" would you take it all back and stop it? Why or why not?
Wow *exhales* I don’t know. I mean, of course I miss my old life, my human life, and my parents. But that would mean I’d never meet Janie. She’s taught me a lot about myself and who I want to be.
What was your first impression of Janie?
That she was stubborn, feisty, at times reckless, frustrating…should I go on? *laughs* But then I noticed something else…she was unbelievably adorable and irritating in the best way.
When did you realize you were in love with Janie?
I think I loved her before I even realized what love was. The night Jerome came to ask Janie to rescue Tanya, the thought of Janie going back into that lair alone terrified me. What I didn’t realize was it was because I cared about her. Somehow losing her seemed unbearable.
If you could have anything in the world what would it be?
Hmm, I don’t know. I kind of like life the way it is now. Janie and I working together to rid Baltimore of Daychildren. I guess if I could have one thing, it would be to go back in time and change the event that caused Janie to fear love. She lived so many years isolated from others for fear that she’d get hurt again.
Ok, so we know where the motorcycle came from (which is pretty freakin awesome by the way) but where did the scythe come from?
I’d like to say it’s as cool of a story as Janie’s, but no, my mother didn’t pass a deadly weapon down to me. She was more of the church-going type and less of the beheading type. It was after I’d been granted my humanity. I found it in some random shop and really liked it. I’ve been using it ever since. It’s definitely effective.
Would you consider yourself the romantic type?
Haha, no! I’m not really into the whole chocolate and roses thing. I guess I show my feelings through action…and sarcasm. Since meeting Janie I’ve gotten better at expressing my feelings in other ways.
What is it like having the power you posses and the skill to fight?
It’s cool. I like being able to do things that others can’t. They certainly come in handy when I’m up against a Daychild with an ability.
If you could describe yourself in three words what would they be?
Good-looking *smirks*, tough, flawed—but I’m working on that one *smiles*
What were your first thoughts when you stepped through the door and saw Janie's mentor and mother?
Some four-letter words for sure. I was to say the least, shocked…and then, well, regretful.
When did you decide that you were going to kill your own kind?
It took awhile. The transition back to humanity was excruciating. To suddenly have a conscience after all I’d done. It took a few months before I could even go out into society. Then one day I knew in order to make up for what I’d done I had to kill the monsters who took my life from me. Stop them from harming anyone else. I’m still working on that one.
~~~~~Thanks for stopping by Kai!! I had such a blast talking with you!! I can't wait to read more of your and Janie's adventures! Tell Janie Hi for me and kick some Daychildren butt while your out there!

I will. With Janie, there's always an adventure. Thanks for having me.  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~***

The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa

The Iron Knight (The Iron Fey #4)
Author: Julie Kagawa
Publish Date: October 25, 2011
Pages: 361
Ash, former prince of the Winter Court, gave up everything. His title, his home, even his vow of loyalty. All for a girl… and all for nothing.

Unless he can earn a soul.

To cold, emotionless faery prince Ash, love was a weakness for mortals and fools. His own love had died a horrible death, killing any gentler feelings the Winter prince might have had. Or so he thought.

Then Meghan Chase—a half human, half fey slip of a girl— smashed through his barricades, binding him to her irrevocably with his oath to be her knight. And when all of Faery nearly fell to the Iron fey, she severed their bond to save his life. Meghan is now the Iron Queen, ruler of a realm where no Winter or Summer fey can survive.

With the (unwelcome) company of his archrival, Summer Court prankster Puck, and the infuriating cait sith Grimalkin, Ash begins a journey he is bound to see through to its end— a quest to find a way to honor his solemn vow to stand by Meghan’s side.

To survive in the Iron realm, Ash must have a soul and a mortal body. But the tests he must face to earn these things are impossible. At least, no one has ever passed to tell the tale.

And then Ash learns something that changes everything. A truth that turns reality upside down, challenges his darkest beliefs and shows him that, sometimes, it takes more than courage to make the ultimate sacrifice. {Goodreads}
HOLY CRAP!!!!!! >Those were the first words that came to mind after reading this amazing book! I have enjoyed these books sooo much and am SO very sad that they finally ended. These were the books that are responsible for awakening my book obsession!

Julie Kagawa knows how to create the most beautiful, exciting, thrilling, emotional book and characters! I loved watching each individual character grow and capture my every thought and make me feel their every emotion.  I was sooo excited to receive this book and when I finally received it I completely devoured it!

Normally when you read the last book in a series you are left with disappointment because you had such high expectations. I have experienced this many times before. As for this book...this was not the deal with this one. This book actually managed to exceed all my expectations!! Gosh I don't know what else to say. I will either repeat myself or well, no I don't know enough words to express how amazing this book was, how amazing this series was!!

Julie is definitely one of my favorite authors of all time. Not only because of her ability to develope the best characters but with her ability to make you feel every heart wrenching moment, every heart quickening moment, make you so angry you end up switching teams then go back again. I have always been able to pick my teams easily but with these characters: Ash the hot, forbidden, quiet, hurt Ice Prince the last son of Queen Mab of the Unseelie Court and Puck the hilarious, sweet, protective,outgoing, court jester to King Oberon of the Seelie Court!! I am Team Ash but I will always love Puck he is constantly making me laugh and hurt for him.

Meghan becomes such a strong character that I love and really really missed. This book is from Ash's point of view and even though I loved reading his every thought, his past, and his mixed emotions I did miss Meghan.

This book is about Ash's journey to find and earn a human soul that he can be with Meghan Chase who is now the Queen of the Iron Kingdom, a place Ash can not go. Iron is lethal to to fae. Ash would surely die without a soul. I loved the unexpected turn in those who accompany Ash on this journey. Although, I hated one specific thing that happens but I won't give that away.

The imagination in this books is unbelievable. You get a darker and scarier view of the Neverever as they all journey deeper and deeper to the end of the world. Unexpected twists and turns keep you guessing. Ash's struggles have you hurting for him. And most of all I loved to get a taste of Ash and Puck's past. They are so cute and lovable!! You know that no madder what they care about each other. :)

The ending...man the ending....I loved the ending!! It was so sad and breathtaking, and well you are just going to have to read it for yourself. hehehe

Now for some awesome quotes:
Warning!!!! Content may contain spoilers!!!

“You're here,' I murmured, reaching out to touch him, hardly believing this was real. 'You came back.' Ash's breath hitched, and he put his hand over mine.
'I came home.”~Ash and Meghan <3

“I have come from the End of the World.... From the River of Dreams, through the gauntlet and the Briar and the Deep Wyld, in order to stand before you today. I have but one request - to take my place at your side. To resume my duty as your knight, and to protect you and your kingdom for as long as I draw breath.”
~Ash
“I’m going to kill you one day,” I told him as we hurried after Grimalkin, back into the swampy marshland. It was not an idle threat.
Puck just laughed. “Yeah. You and everyone else, prince. Join the club.”
~Ash and Puck

"'Meghan Chase!' Puck roared, startling me into silence. I blinked, and he sneered at me. 'Yeah, your highness. I know what loss is. I've loved that girl since before she knew me. But I waited. I waited because I didn't wan't to lie about who I was. I wanted her to know the truth before anything else. So I waited, and I did my job. For years, I protected her, biding my time , until the day she went into the Neverever after her brother. And then you came along. And I saw the way she looked at you. And for the first time, I wanted to kill you as much as you wanted to kill me.'" ~Puck <3

Two containg Ash and two containing Puck!! Sigh...Swoon!!.... Faint!!!! :DDDDDDDD
Nothing can express my happiness and joy after reading these books!! Each character has a special place in my heart and forever will!!

To Ash my first love! To Meghan an awesome chica who I am completely jealous of. To Puck the amazing and hilarious prankster who I love! To Julie who is the genius I look to for inspiration!! To every little character who plays an important role in everything! And to the series itself that captured me in every way, took my breath away, encourage me to read non-stop and I regret for ending!! I cried, I laughed, I got angry, I cried again and again and again!! *Sigh* I don't know what else to say.....

Here is to the amazing Iron Fey Series and Julie Kagawa!! I am looking forward to the awesome spinoff and Julie's new series!! Come sooner!!! :D
Hope you enjoyed my review...sorry it was so long but so much needed to be said!!

Follow Friday(7)

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee.
This Week's question:
 Question: In light of 11.11.11 and Veteran's Day tell us about your favorite solider and how he or she is saving the world. Fictional or real life.
 My answer:
Uhm that would be my grandpa. He served his time in war and served as a major role model in my life. He was always very loving and hilarious. He saved the world by being an undercover agent after war, raising his kids, and loving his grand-kids unconditionally. Sadly, he is no longer here anymore, died of a heartattack almost 6 years ago, but he will always be my super hero! :D

What about you guys?? Leave a link to your Follow Friday and I will be sure to check it out! :D
Its Friday everyone!!!!! :DDD hahaha Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Cover Reveals and New Trailers

Thanks to Natalia @ Dazzling Reads I remembered to check my cover less shelf on goodreads and guess what was waiting there for me???? This beauty!!:
Amelia—still caught between life and death—must fight for every moment of her relationship with the human boy Joshua. They can hardly even kiss without Amelia accidentally dematerializing. Looking for answers, they go to visit some of Joshua’s Seer relatives in New Orleans. But even in a city so famously steeped in the supernatural, Amelia ends up with more questions than answers…and becomes increasingly convinced that she and Joshua can never have a future together.

Wandering through the French Quarter, Amelia meets other in-between ghosts, and begins to seriously consider joining them. And then she meets Gabrielle. Somehow, against impossible odds, Gaby has found a way to live a sort of half-life...a half-life for which Amelia would pay any price.

Torn between two worlds, Amelia must choose carefully, before the evil spirits of the netherworld choose for her.
Godd look at this freaking beauty!! :D I absolutely loved the first, Hereafter, and can't wait for this one!! I loved Joshua!! It was such a wonderful read!! Hurry up June 5th!!! :D

Waiting on Wednesday(8)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine. Here we feature the books that we are dying to get our lil hands on but haven't been released yet. This week I'm waiting on........
Shattered Dreams by Ellie James
Release Date: December 6, 2011
Sixteen-year-old Trinity Monsour wants nothing more than to live a normal life. But that isn’t as easy as it seems. Trinity is different. She is special. She sees visions, and for those she’s seen, it’s already too late.
Trinity arrives on her aunt’s doorstep in New Orleans with virtually no knowledge of her mysterious heritage. She begins settling into life at a new school and even starts making friends. But all too quickly her dreams accelerate; twisted, terrifying visions of a girl locked in a dark room. And when the head cheerleader, Jessica, goes missing, Trinity knows she has no choice but to step forward with what she’s seen.
But people believe that Trinity has information about Jessica’s disappearance not because of a dream, but because she is involved. She is kind-of dating Jessica’s ex-boyfriend, Chase, and Jessica did pull a nasty prank on Trinity. Revenge seems like the likeliest scenario.
Nothing prepares Trinity for the dark odyssey that ensues while searching for Jessica, including the surprising romance she finds with Chase, or the shocking truths she learns, not just about the girl who has gone missing, but the past that has been hidden from her. ~Goodreads
This looks so good!! THe cover is beautiful and intriguing. I can't help but wonder about the dragonfly necklace...Obviously it has an important part in it for the series to be called the A Midnight Dragonfly  series. I guess I am just gonna have to find out! :D
What are you guys waiting on? leave a link in the comments...(hey can someone teach me how to do that btw...I can never find out how without leaving the big 'ol long url in everyones comments) <~ haha wow sorry it's true but I feel so newbie for asking that question...I guess cus I am hah? lol Have a great Wednesday!! :D
