~This Week's Question~
Jumping Genres: Ever pick up a book from a genre you usually don't like and LOVE it? Tell us about it and why you picked it up in the first place.
~My Answer~
Uhmm...let's see.. a genre I don't like and ended up loving...Well, normally I don't tend to like the ghosty genre but! I ended up really liking Shattered Souls. Like alot alot!! It was a different ghosty but it all worked out and was a beautiful story! Well....besides the whole bad exorcist guys...those. were a hella scary! But like I said I really loved the book! And ever sense that book I haven't really liked any other ghosty books.
I started reading the Hereafter Series and liked that one too but...it hasn't stuck I guess. I don't find myself making time and money budgeting for book 2. Maybe I will sometime but ya. I think you get my point hehe :)
Oh! And also Steampunk novels. I didn't get them exactly and never showed interest. That is until I read Destiny's Fire by Trisha Wolfe!! Amazing book! Now I feel I can step into more Steampunk novels and enjoy them!! :D

Okay, I haven't heard of any of these book, but I suppose that is why this is a great #FF question because it means jumping outside the box. I usually just stick to paranormal romance and some YA stuff, but lately I've been inspired! Anyway, new follower on the blog. I hope you'll take a second to swing by my Friday hops and follow me back! Have a good one!

LOL, I don't do ghostly genres either because I'm a total pansy. I didn't like Shattered Souls that much. I still haven't finished it, but I will one day. I'll try it again after your short review of it :0) And steampunk, oh I love steampunk! I'm glad you branched out and tried it.

ReplyDeleteI cant read anything scary, no way, lol, I forgot to mention that steampunk, i don't like them, except Cassandra Clares Infernal Devices, read them, as they are connected to The Mortal Instruments, and I guess they are considered (infernal ones) steampunk. I have trouble wrapping my head around women who dress like they did, and being controlled by men and society, it makes me mad! lol, I would be in so much trouble rebelling if i lived back then, lol. Here is my post.(i already follow you)

Steampunk is something I'm also new too ^^

Hi Jaiden - One more to your goal of 200 - New GFC follower here. :) I see so many YA reviewers! My answer was YA fiction, and how the para-world has changed my perception of what YA was. I'll check out what your recommendations are to further my dive into the YA realm LOL
ReplyDeleteHappy FF (or Follow Saturday...)! Have fun with the rest of your camping trip.
