The new year is coming up soon and Girls on YA books is going to go through some new changes! Starting this week I will begin re-designing my blog so pay no attention to the man behind the curtain....hahaha sorry that made no sense at all it just flowed (its from The Wizard of Oz in case any of you were wondering)...anyways like I was saying I am going to start giving my blog a whole new look!!! :D I'm so excited!! So pay no attention to the random disorder. It may tend to look bad at certain times but it will all piece together and look good in the end (hopefully).

Also some of my policies and info is going to change so watch out for that! New memes/activities will be added too! I'm really looking forward to doing this and hopefully you will like the end result as well! Although, while this construction is going on I will still be going along with regular posts, old memes, and my reviews. The construction will just be going along with it all. But have a great day!! and Happy Reading! :D

Iron Fey Devotion Day5

Hey everyone! Today is Final day of my Iron Fey devotions! Sorry it is so late of a post but Life has been pretty busy lately! Of course I will still be posting other stuff linking to the Iron Fey Series but this event has to have an end....with my favorite quotes from The Iron Queen!! Loved everything in this book! It is my favorite of the three! Sadly I still haven't received my Iron Knight copy and that officializes it... I am never pr-ordering a book ever again!! So because of that I can't give my favorite quotes or anything like that yet but I will very soon!! I could have had it already by just going out and buying it!!! Anyways enough of my complaining...without further a due here are my favorite quotes! Enjoy :)
“My name is Ashallyn'darkmyr Tallyn, third son of the Unseelie Court...Let it be known--from this day forth, I vow to protect Meghan Chase, daughter of the Summer King, with my sword, my honor, and my life. Her desires are mine. Her wishes are mine. Should even the world stand against her, my blade will be at her side. And should it fail to protect her, let my own existence be forfeit. This I swear, on my honor, my True Name, and my life. From this day on..." His voice went even softer, but I still heard it as though he whispered it into my ear. "I am yours.”

“His forehead bumped softly against mine, his brilliant silver gaze searing into me. “I plan to keep you, from everyone, for as long as I’m alive. That includes Puck, the false king, and anyone else who would take you away.” One corner of his mouth quirked, as I struggled to catch my breath under his powerful scrutiny. “I guess I should’ve warned you that I have a slight possessive streak.” -ASH”

“You are my heart, my life, my entire existence." -Ash”

“But ... but what if I hit you?”
A snort. “You’re not going to hit me.”
“How do you know?” I bristled at his amused tone. “I could hit you. Even master swordsmen make mistakes. I could get a lucky shot, or you might not see me coming. I don’t want to hurt you.”
He favored me with another patient look. “And how much experience do you have with swords and weapons in general?”
“Um.” I glanced down at the saber in my hand. “Thirty seconds?”
He smiled, that calm, irritatingly confident smirk. “You’re not going to hit me.” ~Ash&Meghan

“A soft noise, almost a sob. Ash rose, hesitated, as if fighting the compulsion to obey. "I will always be your knight, Meghan Chase," he whispered in a strained voice, as if every moment he remained was painful to him. "And I swear, if there is a way for us to be together, I will find it. No matter how long it takes. If I have to chase your soul to the ends of eternity, I won't stop until I find you, I promise."
And then he was gone.”

“The cait sith has disappeared.”

“ … Crap.”
-PUCK and ASH”
“Hey, princess.”

“Hey,” I whispered, as Ash slipped his arms around my waist from behind, drawing me close. I could feel his glare aimed at Puck over my head, a silent, protective gesture that spoke louder than any words. Mine. Back off.”
~All three(kinda)

“Good idea,” Puck echoed from the back of the cave. “Why don’t you take first watch, prince? You could actually be doing something that doesn’t make me want to gouge my eyes out with a spork.”

Ash’s lips curled in a smirk. “I would think you’re better suited to the task, Goodfellow,” he said without turning around. “After all, that’s what you’re best at isn’t it? Watching?”

“Oh, keep it up, ice-boy. You’re gonna have to sleep sometime.”~Ash and Puck

“One more thing,” Ash said in his dangerous, soft voice as we turned away. “If you do not return with her,” Ash continued, staring him down, “if she comes to any harm while she is with you, I will turn this entire camp into a bloodbath. That is my promise, lieutenant.”~Ash

“I wished that, for once, faery tales – real faery tales, not Disney fairy tales – would have a happy ending.”  ~Meghan

“You enjoy making my heart stop, don't you?”~Ash

“Ash brought my hand to his lips, his eyes never leaving mine. "I love you, Meghan Chase," he murmured against my skin. "For the rest of my life, however long we have left. I'll consider it an honor to die beside you.”~Ash

“Oh, look at that, he's heard of me. My fame grows." -Puck”

“Puck’s eyes gleamed, feral and menacing. “Oh, I don’t know, princess. Maybe it was because I was stupid enough to care about you. Maybe I actually thought I had a chance. Silly me, thinking that one little kiss meant anything to you.” -PUCK”

“We could die tomorrow," I whispered back. "I want to be with you tonight. I don't want to have any regrets, when it comes to us. So, yes, I'm sure. I love you, Ash.” ~Meghan

“My, aren't we bossy today. Give a girl an army and it goes straight to her head. - Puck”

“I want her to be happy, and she's most happy with you. Maybe this will make up for... past mistakes." He shook his head and returned to his normal idiocy. "So, either you say, 'Sure, I'd love to have you along,' or you have a big bird dropping things on your head the whole trip.”  ~Puck

“Ah.” Puck’s emerald eyes sparkled with glee. “And so they come crawling back for Puck’s help after all. Tsk tsk.” He shook his head and took another bite of the apple. “How easy it is to forget grudges when someone has something you need.” -PUCK”

 “He was my best friend, and I'd always have a spot for him in my heart, but... it was you, Ash. I didn't really have a choice. It's always been you.”~Meghan

“If I'd thought I would regret it," he said calmly, "I never would have made that oath. I knew what becoming a knight would mean. And if you asked me again, the answer would still be the same." He sighed, framing my face with his hands. "My life... everything I am... belongs to you.”~Ash

“I have always loved you, princess" Robin Goodfellow promised, his green eyes shining in the darkness. "I always will. And I'll take whatever you can give me."~Puck

“He hesitated, but then stepped beneath the tree and knelt, depositing me gently on the ground between two giant roots. And he stayed there, kneeling beside me, holding my hand in his. Something splashed the back of my hand, cold as spring water, crystalling to my skin. A faery's tears.”

“I don't care what it's called. I just want to be with her at the end. I'm not giving up. Meghan, I'll be with you soon. Please, wait for me.”~Ash

“Well, don't worry about it too much, princess. Let ice-boy cool off for the night and then try to talk to him tomorrow. He wont's stay angry with you too long, I bet. Ash isn't one to hold a grudge. ''
''What are you talking about? He's held a grudge against you for centuries!''
''Oh, right.'' - Puck and Meghan”

“Fairy godmothers didn't exist, and even if they did, they wouldn't wave a magic wand and make everything better.(Not without a contract, anyway.)”

“I learned long ago that you don't get in the middle of a lover's spat. Nothing EVER goes as planned - People fall in love with the wrong person, someone ends up with a donkey head and then its a whole big mess. - Puck”

“for better or worse, i'm afraid you're stuck with me now." -ash”

“It’s not that I don't trust the guy, but…no, wait--that's exactly the reason.”

“You'll take her to a healer, prince, or so help me I will cut out that piece of ice you call a heart and take her myself.”~Puck

“Goodfellow?” Glitch stared at Puck nervously. “Robin Goodfellow?”
“Oh, look at that, he’s heard of me. My fame grows.” Puck snorted and leaped off the roof. In midair, he became a giant black raven, who swooped toward us with a raucous cry before dropping into the circle as Puck in an explosion of feathers. “Ta-daaaaaaaaaa.”~Puck

“I have always loved you, princess,” Robin Goodfellow promised, his green eyes shining in the darkness. “I always will. And I’ll take whatever you can give me.”
I looked down, unable to meet his open stare, human fears and selfconsciousness coming to the surface. “Even if all I can offer is friendship? Will that still be enough?”
“Well, not really.” Puck dropped his hand, his voice turning light and carefree again, more like the Puck I knew. “Damn not being able to lie. Princess, if you suddenly decide ice-boy is a first-class jerk and that you can’t stand him, I’ll always be here.”~Puck&Meghan

 “One night, bored and restless, I found a stack of dusty board games in a closet, and bullied Ash into learning Scrabble, checkers and Yahtzee. Surprisingly, Ash found that he enjoyed these “human” games, and was soon asking me to play more often than not. This filled some of the long, restless evenings and kept my mind off certain things. Unfortunately for me, once Ash learned the rules, he was nearly impossible to beat in strategy games like checkers, and his long life gave him a vast knowledge of lengthy, complicated words he staggered me with in Scrabble. Though sometimes we’d end up debating whether or not faery terms like Gwragedd Annwn and hobyahs were legal to use.”

Dang... I am going to have to stop there... god I can go on and on but honestly I would just be reciting the whole book!! Hope you enjoyed these quotes!! :D

Follow Friday(5)

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Allison Can Read and Parajunkee. This meme allows us to hop from blog to blog and just say hi, get new followers, and get to know each other a 'lil better! :)
This Weeks Question:
If you could have dinner with your favorite book character, who would you eat with and what would you serve?
My Answer:
Uhhhh that would be with Josh from Hereafter. He is such a sweet and mellow I guy and I think we could have a lot of fun! We would probably eat....Pizza!! :D
Another person I would like to have dinner with would be Puck from The Iron Fey (I know I know you are probably tired of hearing of this by now but hey, who could blame me for having an obsession. dont we all?) I would pick him because the night would be filled with constant laughs! I don't think we would ever get around to eating because 1. I would be afraid he did something to it or would shove it in my face and 2. my belly would be hurting too much from all the laughing to even eat.
~~~~What about you guys? leave a comment and tell me your answer!! I love getting feed back from you guys! Thanks for stopping by and any to new followers! Love ya all and Happy Friday!! :D
Iron Fey Devotion Day4
Ok so after having some cover and waiting fun its time to get back to my devotion even though the release day has already passed!!!  I've given my reviews, devoted a song to Puck, and givin my favorite quotes from the Iron King but now it's time to give my favorite quotes from the Iron Daughter (bbook 2 in the series) So her they are hope you enjoy! :)
“Puck whispered, smiling to soften his words. “I wouldn’t defy Oberon for just anyone. But, for you…” He leaned forward, touching his forehead to mine. “I’d come back from the dead for you.”~Puck
“She pulled up Ash's shirt, revealing a layer of gauze that was just beginning to seep blood onto the mattress."At least the bandaging was done properly," she mused."Very nice, clean work. Your handiwork, I presume, Goodfellow?"
"Which one?"
"The bandage, Robin."
"Yeah, that was mine, too.”~Puck
“Forgive me," Ash murmured, and I heard the faintest of tremors beneath his voice. "But I can't...I won't...give her up. Not now, when I've just found her."-Ash”
“Don't leave," I whispered, tightening my hold. "Never leave me again. Stay with me. Forever." The winter prince smiled, a small, easy smile, and lowered his lips to mine. "I promise."-Meghan and Ash”
“If you are going to do that, would you mind not jostling the bed so much?' came a sarcastic voice near the head board. 'Perhaps you could roll around on the floor.”~Grimalkin
“You're here, and the only dance I want is this one.”~Ash
“How is Oberon these days? Still being henpecked by that basilisk of a wife?"
"Don't insult the basilisk....”
“Meghan,” whispered a voice, heart wrenchingly familiar, drawing me out of the void. I recognized it immediately, just as I realized it was a figment of my desperate imagination, because the real owner of that voice would never be here, talking to me.
Ash?
“Wake up,” he murmured, his deep voice cutting through the layers of the darkness. “Don’t do this. If you don’t come out of this soon, you’ll fade away and drift forever. Fight it. Come back to us.”
I didn’t want to wake up. There was nothing but pain waiting for me in the real world. If I was asleep, I couldn’t feel anything. If I was asleep, I didn’t have to face Ash and the cold contempt on his face when he looked at me. Darkness was my retreat, my sanctuary. I drew back from Ash’s voice, deeper into the comforting blackness. And, through the layer of dreams and delirium, I heard a quiet sob.
“Please.” A hand gripped mine, real and solid, anchoring me to the present. “I know what you must think of me, but…” The voice broke off, took a ragged breath. “Don’t leave,” it whispered. “Meghan, don’t go. Come back to me.”~Ash (sorry that one was long)
“Why am I so drawn to you?" He muttered, almost to himself. "why is it so hard to let go? I thought...At first...It was Ariella, that you remind me of so much. But it's not." though he didn't smile, his eyes lightened a shade. "You're far more stubborn than she ever was." I sniffed. "That's like the pot calling the kettle black," I whispered, and a faint, tiny grin finally crossed his face, before his expression clouded and he lowered his head, touching his forehead to mine. "What do you want of me, Meghan?" He asked, a low thread of anguish flickering below the surface. Tears blurred my vision, all the fear and heartache of the past few days rising to the surface. "Just you," I whispered. "I just want you." -Ash and Meghan”(so was this one)
“What if I take you apart and turn you into a toaster oven, how would you like that tin can?”~Puck
“You look like crap, prince. Did you miss me?" -Puck”
“so, we're at war. Perfect. Shall we save time and kill each other now, or did you want to wait until later?" -Puck”
The dwarf snorted. "Yeah, sure, whatever. But I want a serious answer, Prince."
Ash was still for a moment. "Yes," he murmured, his voice so low I barely caught it. "She's worth it."
"You know Mab will tear you apart for this."
"I know." -Dwarf and Ash”
 He shrugged, a casual lift of one shoulder. "You tell me. When I left Nevernever, I didn't have any plans other than being with you. If you want me around, just say the word.”~Ash
"PRINCESS." Abruptly, he bowed. "IT HAS BEEN AN HONOR. WERE THINGS DIFFERENT, I WOULD GLADLY SERVE YOU UNTIL THE END OF TIME." He looked at Ash and nodded, as it suddenly dawned on me what he was implying. "SHE THINKS THE WORLD OF YOU, PRINCE. PROTECT HER WITH YOUR LIFE.”  ~Ironhorse
“Ash brushed my cheek with the back of his hand, catching a loose strand of hair between his fingers. "I've seen thousands of mortal girls," he said softly, "more than you could ever count, from all corners of your world. To me, they're all the same." His finger slid below my chin, tilting my head up. "They only see this outer shell, not who I really am, beneath. You have. You've seen me without the glamour and illusions, even the ones I show my family, the farce I maintain just to survive. You've seen who I really am, and yet, you're still here."~Ash
“You ran a light anyway, dickhead!”
“Ash looked at me. I saw pain in his eyes, and a little regret, but they shone with such emotion I felt breathless. 'I already have.”~Ash
“I know you'd risk everything to protect us, and that's what worries me. You still don't know enough about this world to be properly terrified. Things are going to get screwed eight ways from Sunday, and you're making goo-goo eyes at the enemy! I heard what happened in Machina's realm and yes, it scared the hell out of me. I love you, dammit. I;m not going to watch you get torn apart when everything goes bad." -PUCK”
“Wow, icy reception here. And to think I came back from the dead for this." - Puck”
“Meghan's in lo-ove," sang the phouka, making my heart stop. "Meghan's in lo-ove. Meghan and Ash, sitting in a tre--" -Tiaothin”
“From the moment you stepped into the nevernever, you've been my undoing. I should never have agreed to that contract." -Ash”
“I rose from the bed, my heart thudding in my chest. "Kiss me," I whispered, and saw his eyebrow arc in surprise. "Just once more," I pleaded, "And I promise it will be the last time. I'll be able to forget you after that." -Meghan”
“I know it's too soon right now," he murmured into my hair, "but just so you know, i'll wait. When you're ready, i'll be right here. Don't forget, Princess." -Puck”
“ASH: What are you doing here, Goodfellow?
PUCK: Rescuing the princess from the winter court, of course. Though it appears I'm saving your sorry-ass as well
ASH: I could've handled it
PUCK: Oh, i'm sure. Well then, shall we get on with it? Try to keep up, your highness
ASH: Just stay out of my way”
“Princess." Puck's voice broke through my numb trance. I glared poisoned daggers at him and he gave me a weak smile. "Scary, you can rip me to pieces later. His royal iciness isn't looking so good. We have to get him to a healer, now." -Puck”
“I seem to remember a certain someone swearing that she couldn't dance at all. Obviously I must have been with her twin sister, because i was expecting you to step on my toes all night. Been taking lessons, Princess?"
-Puck”
“He sighed, and his eyes closed. "You were right," he murmured, his voice nearly lost in the darkness. "I couldn't do it alone. I should have listened to you back in Tir Na Nog."
"Yes, you should have," I whispered. "Remember that, so that next time you can just agree with whatever I say and we'll be fine.”
“Ouch. Well, you know what they say - you always hurt the one you love. Or is that the one you hate? I can never remember. - Puck”
 “I can't forget. I miss him. I know he's the enemy, and we broke all kinds of rules, but I don't care/ I miss him so much, Puck."~Meghan
“Shopping is just another form of hunting. All fey are hunters, whether they admit it or not. It's in our nature, pet, nothing unnatural about it.”
“Wow, Meghan!” Kimi bounced in place, clapping her hands. “You look
awesome! I love what you did with your hair.”
“PRINCESS.” Ironhorse looked me up and down, nodding in approval.
“TRULY, YOU ARE A VISION.”
I glanced at Puck, who was staring at me in a daze. “Um…” he stammered,
while I nearly went into shock with the novelty of actually rendering Puck speechless. “You
look…nice,” he muttered at last.
I blushed, suddenly self-conscious.”
 “Ah, this is Princess that turned Prince traitor," he hissed, eyeing me up and down. "And now they need gobblin tunnels out of city, good, good." -Sweetfinger”
Puck retreated, grinning, and the nurse sighed. “Those two,” she muttered.
“They’re either best friends or darkest enemies, I can’t tell which. Come with me, Miss Chase.”
“...we could've had something perfect, but it just wasn't meant to be.”
“Puck rolled his eyes. Holding out his hand, he gave me an encouraging smile. “Come on, Princess. Don’t want to get separated in here.” I clasped his hand, and he curled his fingers around mine. “Let’s go, then. Rusty can bring up the read. That way, if we’re jumped from behind, we won’t lose anything important.”
I felt Ironhorse’s indignant snort as we entered the tunnel, and I pressed closer to Puck as the shadows closed in on us like grasping fingers.
“I think our last kiss was meant to be quick and chaste, but after the first touch of his lips fire leaped up and roared through my belly. My fingers yanked him close, digging into his back, and his arms crushed me to him as if wanting to meld us together. I knotted my fingers in his hair and bit down on his bottom lip, making him groan. His lips parted, and my tongue swept in to dance with his. There was nothing sweet or gentle in our last kiss; it was filled with sorrow and desperation, of the bitter knowledge that we could've had something perfect, but it just wasn't meant to be.”
“Then you came along," he muttered, touching my wet cheeks, "and suddenly...I don't know. It was like i was seeing things for the first time again. When I saw you with Puck, the day you came to the Nevernever..."
-Ash”
Waiting on Wednesday(6) & Covers of the Month
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine. It hosts the books that we are dying to get but haven't been released yet. This week I'm waiting on.......
Shatter me by Tahereh Mafi
Juliette hasn't touched anyone in exactly 264 days. The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette's touch is fatal. As long as she doesn't hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don't fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.
The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war- and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she's exactly what they need right now.
Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.
OOOOH!!! This one gives me the chills just reading about it!! I can't wait to get my grubby little hands on this one!! And the cover!!? It adds a perfect affect to the book! :D
Covers Of the Month~
Until I Die by Amy Plum
Kate has chosen to leave the comfort and safety of her human world in order to join Vincent in the dangerous supernatural universe he inhabits. For his part, he has sworn to go against his very nature and resist the repeated deaths that are his fate as a revenant—even though it will bring him immeasurable suffering.
Heady with romance and rife with danger, the second book of the DIE FOR ME trilogy follows Vincent and Kate as they search—separately—for a solution to their plight, pursuing their quest from the glamorous streets of Paris to the city’s squalid underbelly. Although the experiment that Vincent attempts is progressively destroying him, he insists on seeing it through to the end. This prompts Kate to strike out on her own into the dangerous world of the revenants to find another way. But she unwittingly puts everyone she loves at risk when she discovers a family of ancient healers who hold the key to a secret that could help the bardia—the good revenants—overthrow their murderous enemies, the numa, forever.
And while the lovers search for something they have little chance of finding, a new threat arises among the numa. Kate finds herself in the midst of an ancient and deadly war, not as a bystander...but as a target.
Iron Fey Devotion Day2
Ok so today is day two of my devotions and they feature all of my favorite quotes From the Iron King! Hope you enjoy these funny, sad, swoon worthy quotes! :)
“Oh, we're playing nice now? Shall we have tea first? Brew up a nice pot of kiss-my-ass? -Puck”
“Touch her, and I'll freeze your testicles off and put them in a jar. Understand?”- Ash
“I licked my lips and whispered, 'Is this where you say you'll kill me?'
One corner of his lips curled. 'If you like,' he murmured, a flicker of amusement finally crossing his face. 'Though it's gotten far too interesting for that.”-Ash&Meghan
“Bravo," said Grimalkin, peering down from Cold Tom's chest. "The Winter prince and Oberon's jester agreeing on something. The world must be ending.”-Grimalkin
“Ladies and Felines," he stated grandly, grasping the doorknob, "Welcome to Tir Na Nog. Land of endless winter and shitloads of snow.”-Puck
“Me? Die? Didn't they tell you, princess? I'm Robin Goodfellow.”-Puck
“Ash blinked. "Are you raiding the cellars now, Goodfellow?"
"Me? Stealing?" Puck flashed a devious grin and popped another fruit into his mouth. "In the house of my ancient enemy? What gave you that idea?" He plucked another fruit and tossed it to me with a wink.” -Ash&Puck
“Metallic trees. That's new. If you see any steel dryads, be sure to tell me so i can run away screaming. -Puck”
“I have to be on top of my game if I'm going to kill things for you, right?” -Ash
“Hi, Princess. Sorry I'm late. Traffic was a bitch." He winked at me, then shot a glance at the winter sidhe, standing in the doorway. "Hey, Shard." He waved. "Nice place you've got here. I'll have to remember it, so i can give it the special 'puck touch'."
-PUCK”
“Then I made a stupid mistake and looked up at him. His eyes met mine, and for a moment, his face was open and vulnerable in the moonlight. I caught a hint of wonder there as we stared at each other. Slowly, he leaned forward. I caught my breath, a tiny gasp escaping. He stiffened, and his expression shuttered closed, eyes going hard and frosty.
[...]
'This is getting old,' he said in a voice that matched his eyes.”
“Stop it!" I hissed glaring at both in turn. "Stop it right now! Put your weapons up, both of you! Ash, you're in no condition to fight, and, Puck, shame on you, agreeing to duel him when he's obviously hurt. Sit down and shut up."
-Meghan”
“I've always wanted the IQ of a rock. No, wait. That would be an insult to the rock.- Puck”
  “Ash pulled me back against him, brushing my hair from my neck. His mouth skimmed my shoulder, up my neck, sending butterflies swarming through my insides. "If you want to rest, then do so," he murmured against my skin. "The rain will not touch you, I promise.”
“He shook his head, examining the wound again. “It's not frostbitten,“ he muttered. “It'll blister, but you should be fine. You might only lose a couple fingers.“
I glanced at him sharply, but he was smirking. For a moment, I was speechless. Good God, the Ice Prince was making jokes now; the world must be ending.”
“Ash!" I called. "What are you doing? Come on!."
"Meghan." Ash's voice despite the pain below the surface, was calm. "I hope you find your brother. If you see Puck again. tell him I regret having to step out of our duel."
"Ash, no! Don't do this!"
I felt him smile. "You made me feel alive again," he murmured.
Screeching, the greemlins attacked.”
“Time to switch to decaf, princess. If you're going to shriek at every bogey that jumps out and says 'boo', you'll be exhausted before we reach the edge of the woods. -Puck”
“If the entire cheerleading squad turns into mice, Robin, I will be very upset with you. Mortal adolescents are blind and cruel. You know that. You mustn't take revenge, no matter how you feel about the girl. Especially now. There are more worrisome things on the move"-Ms. Stacey
“I guess the sacrifice of my dignity is the only thing that will save us now. The things I endure for love. The Fates laugh at my torment.”-Puck
Somebody caught me, scooping me off my feet and into their arms. I smelled frost and winter, and heard an exasperated sigh from somewhere above my head.
“What are you doing, Ash?” I heard someone ask. A familiar voice, though I couldn’t think of his name, or why he sounded so suspicious.
“I’m taking her back to her room.” The person above me sounded wonderfully calm and deep. I sighed and settled into his arms. “She’ll have to sleep off the effects of the fruit. We’ll likely be here another day because of your idiocy.”-Puck, Ash
“What is that?"
"A hunt," Puck replied, looking off into the distance. He grimaced. "You know, I was just thinking we needed to be run down like rabbits and torn apart. My day just isn't complete without something trying to kill me."
-Puck”
“I would have gotten you there!" Puck roared. "Me! You don't need his help! Don't you trust me to keep you safe? I would've given everything for you. Why didn't you think I'd be enough?”-Puck
“I dropped the bug with a shudder. 'Is that why Mab wants me?' I asked Ash, who still stood a few feet away. 'As a weapon?'
'Ridiculous isn't it?' Grimalkin purred. 'She cannot even use glamour. She would be a horrible assassin.”-Grimalkin
“You're scared?'
he shook his head. 'Floppy's scared.'
'What's Floppy scared of?'
'The man in the closet”-cute lil Ethan
“The faery lords are immortal. Those who have songs ballads and stories written about them never die. Belief worship imagination we were born of the dreams and fears of mortals and if we are remembered even in some small way we will always exist.”
“As cities grow and technology takes over the world belief and imagination fade away and so do we.”
“I rolled my eyes." Has anyone told you you have the maturity level of a four-year-old?”-Meghan to Puck
“Idiot. I told you not to fight the horse thing.”-Grimalkin
“Here," Rob continued in an amiable voice, "I'll go through the whole thing, so you'll know how to answer next time." He cleared his throat and pounded on the door again. "Knock, knock!" he bellowed. "Who's there? Puck! Puck who? Puck, who will turn you into a squealing pig and stuff you in the oven if you don't get out of our way!" And with that, he banged open the door.” -Puck
“Excuse me a moment, princess. I have to go play with the puppies.”  -Puck
Hehehe don't you just love Puck and his humor? lol Hope you enjoyed these quotes! :)
A Fullout Devotion to the Iron Fey Series!
OK so Tuesday is the release of my most anticipated book: The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa. Julie has created such a wonderful world of the fey, amazing and beautiful characters, and a brilliant story line that I owe all sorts of credits to. These books are what brought me to re-discover my book obsession and love for fictional boys.
Ash is my first love and forever will be! To him I owe all my major swoons, cries, faints, and heart-aches. He is always in my heart, dreams, and thoughts. Every line made my stomach flip and my heart melt. After all the times I have read these books the effects he has on me never seem to wear off. If he were only real....
To Puck I owe my conflict in love. I do love him but like I said Ash is forever my #1 love. Puck made me cry, laugh, sigh, feel pain for and carry out my love for love triangles lol.
Meghan, she proved to be a strong, loyal and affectionate heroine. I loved her for her vulnerabilities, longing, and power. She always knew what she wanted and would do anything for the ones that she loved.
I just want to thank Miss Kagawa for giving me and readers such an amazing series! She easily became one of my favorite authors. The way she wrote, how she could take something that you barely payed attention to in the past such a significant factor in the future, the imagination, heart, humor, and cleverness she put into these books. I am sooo looking forward to the upcoming Iron Fey spin-off with Ethan and her new apocalyptic vampire series, The Immortal Rules. Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you Julie for these books! I honestly don't know what my book life would be without out you! I am a huge fan! :D
**Ok So now that I am done with shout outs here is what this post is all about...
For the first day (today) I am going to give a small review for each book (including the novellas). Each cover, the synopsis and info, my favorite quotes from the book, the trailer and anything else that would be associated. The second day (Monday) I will give my favorite quotes from each book leading up to the release day. I pre-ordered my copy of Iron Knight so, sadly I won't get it till like Saturday. Because of that, after I read it I will give a devotion to all my favorite quotes but my review won't be posted till its asssigned date ( I have a schedule to keep peoples ;) Obviously by now you know my love for this series and this is just a small way to get to show it! :D Hope you guys enjoy!
The Iron King (Iron Fey Series #1)
Author: Julie Kagawa
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Pages: 363
Goodreads synopsis:
Iron. Ice. A Love Doomed From The Start.
Meghan Chase has a secret destiny; one she could never have imagined.
Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan's life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school or at home.
When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she's known is about to change.
But she could never have guessed the truth - that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she'll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil no faery creature dare face; and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart.
*Quick Review:
Like I said before this book is what re-ignited by passion for books. Everything about this book screams amazing. The world of the Neverever is beautiful, dark and enticing.
Meghan Chase was just a normal teenage girl struggling with the drama of highschool...or so so she thought. She is actually a half-summer fey of the Summer court. Not only is she part fey but a fey princess, daughter of King Oberon. Julie expertly throws in facts, stories, and characters from A Midsummer's Night Dream.
After her half-brother is taken she dives into the world she has never known other than a fairy-tale. Her best friend is not who she thought he was but the infamous Robin Goodfellow, court jester to King Oberon. Along the way she runs into Ash, the winter prince, third son of Queen Mab. A hot fey who Meghan quickly falls for but their love is forbidden. A summer fey and winter fey are to never mingle. They are eternal enemies not to be fraternized with. But who can deny destined love. Ash was to never love again but even he, being an emotionless; cold-hearted fey, can't push away his feelings. Puck, Meghan, and Ash all set out to find Ethan, Meghan's little brother, from the hands of the Iron Court. The very people who can be the downfall to the oldbloods. Stakes are higher than ever and danger is waiting at every corner.
I had so much fun reading this book and re-read it twice before I got the second one. I recommend these books to every one who loves a bit of love conflict, suspense, emotional ties and a whole lot of sexy! :)
Winter's Passage (Iron Fey Series # 1.5)
Author: Julie Kagawa
Pages: 59
Goodreads synopsis:
Meghan Chase used to be an ordinary girl...until she discovered that she is really a faery princess. After escaping from the clutches of the deadly Iron fey, Meghan must follow through on her promise to return to the equally dangerous Winter Court with her forbidden love, Prince Ash. But first, Meghan has one request: that they visit Puck--Meghan's best friend and servant of her father, King Oberon--who was gravely injured defending Meghan from the Iron Fey.
Yet Meghan and Ash's detour does not go unnoticed. They have caught the attention of an ancient, powerful hunter--a foe that even Ash may not be able to defeat....
I loved this short novella! It takes place right after the first book giving you an insight on what happened on their trip to the winter court. Their journey has been pretty smooth sailling except for Meghan's effect to the coldness there but other than that it was pretty good that is until the Big Bad Wolf shows up, literally. You know the one who stalked little Red Riding Hood, the immortal one? Ya that one. He was sent by King Oberon to save Meghan from Ash. Ash and him get into a bloody battle...bum..bumm....bummm.... Loved this little insight!!
The Iron Queen (Iron Fey Series #2)
Author: Julie Kagawa
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Pages: 359
Goodreads synopsis:
Love & Betrayal. A Faery World Gone Mad.
Half Summer faery princess, half human, Meghan has never fit in anywhere. Deserted by the Winter prince she thought loved her, she is prisoner to the Winter faery queen. As war looms between Summer and Winter, Meghan knows that the real danger comes from the Iron fey—ironbound faeries that only she and her absent prince have seen. But no one believes her.Worse, Meghan's own fey powers have been cut off. She's stuck in Faery with only her wits for help. Trusting anyone would be foolish. Trusting a seeming traitor could be deadly. But even as she grows a backbone of iron, Meghan can't help but hear the whispers of longing in her all-too-human heart.
This book takes place right after the small novella Winter's Passage. Meghan chase is now in the Unseelie Court due to her contract with the winter prince, Ash. The Winter Court is the last place any summer fey would like to be. She is constantly pestered by a pukka. Her feelings for Ash have to be hidden for showing them can mean eternal torture or even worse...death. Not to mention Ash, after everything they had been through together, is being even more far and aloof than when they first heart which crushes poor Meghan's heart.
Oh! and to make matter's worse... the season scepter has been stolen!! Now Meghan, Ash, and Puck set out on another adventure to find it but Ash stops short and brakes away from the group promising Meghan he would never see her again. Now her heart is in pieces but Puck is there to pick them up and try to meld it back together. Matters take an unexpected spin and erupt into chaos. Will Meghan and Ash's love pull through? Will the sceptor be returned in enough time to stop the war? The Iron kingdom is at its peak as a new king comes into play.
I loved seeing everything ravel into pure chaos and then slowly unravel as everything is playing out. I loved seeing Meghan and all the characters grow throughout the book and Puck never manages disappoint with his humor and surprise! his romance!! oo la la!!! *wiggles eyebrows* Speaking of never disappointing me.... Ash (despite his cold shoulder) made me swoon countless times throughout the book. I am with Meghan on my heart beat picking up speed every time his name is mentioned! I devoured this book in a days time! Breathtaking and suspenseful! LOVED IT!! :D
The Iron Queen (Iron Fey Series #3)
Author: Julie Kagawa
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Pages: 358
Goodreads synopsis:
Summer Fades. Ice Melts. Here's What's Left.
My name is Meghan Chase.
I thought it was over. That my time with the fey, the impossible choices I had to make, the sacrifices of those I loved, was behind me. But a storm is approaching, an army of Iron fey that will drag me back, kicking and screaming. Drag me away from the banished prince who's sworn to stand by my side. Drag me into the core of conflict so powerful, I'm not sure anyone can survive it.
This time, there will be no turning back.
Ok well I have already reviewed this book so I will just say: This book was freaking amazing!! Made me laugh. It made my heart skip a beat on countless occasions. And it made me cry....like a baby!!! I am so freakin ecstatic for Iron Knight!!!!!! :DBut you can find my review here: http://girlzandtheirbooks.blogspot.com/2011/09/iron-queen-by-julie-kagawa.html
Summer's Crossing (Iron Fey Series #3.5)
Author: Julie Kagawa
Pages: 72
Goodreads synopsis:
A Midsummer's Nightmare? Robin Goodfellow. Puck. Summer Court prankster, King Oberon's right hand, bane of many a faery queen's existence—and secret friend to Prince Ash of the Winter Court. Until one girl's death came between them, and another girl stole both their hearts.
Now Ash has granted one favor too many and someone's come to collect, forcing the prince to a place he cannot go without Puck's help—into the heart of the Summer Court. And Puck faces the ultimate choice—betray Ash and possibly win the girl they both love, or help his former friend turned bitter enemy pull off a deception that no true faery prankster could possibly resist.
This was my favorite novella of the two. You got an insight of Puck and his real thoughts and emotions. What he really feels, thinks, and wants to do. Here he has to assist Ash in a way he could never do himself. And Puck has a difficult desision to make: help poor ice boy or use him to betray him so he could be with Meghan. He even gets permission from King Oberon himself! This was big!! I wanted to slap Puck so freaking hard during this read....but thats all I am saying. I defintetely recommend these novellas if you have read the series...and even those who haven't yet then... STOP WASTING TIME GO PICK ALL OF THESE ASAP!!!! hehe well only if you want to...who am I to force it upon you?
Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick
Silence (Hush Hush Saga #3)
Author: Becca Fitzpatrick
Publisher: Simon & Schuster
Pages: 438
Goodreads synopsis:
The noise between Patch and Nora is gone. They've overcome the secrets riddled in Patch's dark past...bridged two irreconcilable worlds...faced heart-wrenching tests of betrayal, loyalty and trust...and all for a love that will transcend the boundary between heaven and earth. Armed with nothing but their absolute faith in one another, Patch and Nora enter a desperate fight to stop a villain who holds the power to shatter everything they've worked for—and their love—forever.
 "WOW!" That was the first thought after finishing this book. The Hush, Hush Sage quickly climbed its way to my favorites list. Becca Fitzpatrick is an amazing, talented, and genius writer! Her style and imagination is incredible and breathtaking. I loved everything about these books: the characters, plot, scenery, and everything in between.
Another thing she is amazing at....spin-offs. After reading the end of the second book I knew stuff for Nora and Patch were going to get rough but I wasn't expecting what she gave. I was completely speechless after seeing the book trailer. And then nothing could have prepared me for the ending!! AH! Definitely a cliff-hanger. Don't worry though it wasn't as bad as the second but still a big "leave-you-hanging-ending".
Miss Fitzpatrick gave you everything in this book: mystery, emotion, and enough of Patch to keep us all happy hehe.
Patch. Oh, this hot bad boy has got it all and in this book you are let into the more emotional and vulnerable side of him which just made me fall even more with this sexy fallen angel. Patch would do anything for Nora and can't stay away from her. That ending of the second book? How cute was that?!?! :D *sighs and melts into pieces* And the hot sexy tension between them despite the beginning circumstances. I tried to keep this review as spoiler free as possible and to keep it that way I can't say much more. So....you are going to have to go and just pick up a copy of these books and see for yourself. :)
Love this series! It's hot, sexy, thrilling and a major page turner!! I HIGHLY recommend these books to everyone who is willing to read. Purely amazing!!! You will find yourself devouring these books like I have. I can't wait for the final book! stay tuned for upcoming details such as cover reveal, synopsis, release date, etc.
Now for some hot quotes from my favorite fallen angel:
***Warning!! Contents may be spoilery!
"His eyes burned with intensity I'd never seen before. 'You're mine, Angel, and don't you forget it. Your fights are my fights. What if something had happened today? It was bad enough when I thought your ghost was haunting me; I don't think I could handle the real thing'" ~Jev/Patch
"His mouth brushed my earlobe, a searing flutter-weight pressure. 'I love you.' His voice was straightforward, affectionate. 'You make me remember who I used to be. You make me want to be that man again. Right now, holding you, I feel like we have a shot at beating all odds and making it together. I'm yours, if you'll have me.'
.....Patch loved me. Nothing else was important. 'Love you back,' I said.
He bowed his head into my throat, groaning softly. 'I loved you long before you loved me. It's the only thing I have you beat at, and I'll bring it up every chance I get.' His mouth, pressed to my skin, took a devilish curve......." ~Patch and Nora <3
Waiting on Wednesday(4)
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It hosts our most anticipated books that haven't been released yet but are so very worthy of being pre-ordered. This week I'm waiting on....
Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout (Covenant #1)
Release Date: October 18, 2011
Goodreads synopsis:
The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi-pure-bloods-have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals-well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures.Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden.Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~***~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
First off we start out with a simple but beautiful cover. Beautiful isn't it? *wiggles eyebrows* If you have read  Daimon, which is the short story prequel, then you were probably as breathless and aching to get your hands on Miss Armentrout's debut novel too.

This book adds a whole new meaning to the word "half-blood". I read the Percy Jackson series and really liked it but this....this (even with the Greek Mythology as its background) is nothing like it. It has a mixture of daimons, purebloods, forbidden love and a kick but character who has already been through Hell and back. I am soooo excited for this release!! :D

Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

Mockingjay (#3 of Hunger Games Trilogy)
Author: Suzanne Collins
Publisher: Scholastic Press
Pages: 390
Goodreads synopsis:
Young Katniss Everdeen has survived the dreaded Hunger Games not once, but twice, but even now she can find no relief. In fact, the dangers seem to be escalating: President Snow has declared an all-out war on Katniss, her family, her friends, and all the oppressed people of District 12.

First of all I have to give props to the first two books! The second, Catching Fire, was my favorite of the three. It had romance, suspense, sadness, and action.

Mockingjay takes place in district thirteen after
****SPOILER******district twelve had been destroyed. ******** END OF SPOILER**********

Katniss along with her family, Gale and his family, and a few others from the past now live there. She is pretty much in full blown depression and honestly the book just kind of drags which frustrated me. I had such high hopes for this book and it did nothing but anger me. Yes there is still some positives but Katniss's attitude and the whole "poor me poor me" thing is aggravating. Again I loved this series and would never take back the time I spent on it but I don't know it just kind of let me down.

Katniss is now the leading face for the rebellion and Snow has got it out for her. Peeta is captured and being tortured, Finnick is in small depression, and many more problems have erupted. Their only hope is to slowly take each district on their side and away froma capitol allegience. Once this is done they can inflict war. There are so many deaths and honestly the ones who diserved a proper hero's death didn't get the honor they deserved. The ending was kind of rushed but I guess I liked it. I got what I wanted from the ending. There was so many questions left un-answered though. And I'm just going to leave this review like that..... not much more to really say. It was good just dragged on for awhile, kind of depressing, and just left an O.K. feeling with me

Ugh this review was hard. I so wanted to give a great nothing but positive review but I just couldn't. I pledged to give nothing but honesty in my reviews so that is what I had to do. All in all I enjoyed this series even with the ruff ending. I would recommend this series to anyone who wants an action packed dystopian read. Again I would never take back reading this series and who knows you might find you have a different experience and feeling about this last book! :)

Now for my favorite quotes:
***Warning content may be spoilery!!
" ....'If you die, and I live, there's no life for me at all back at District Twelve. Your my whole life,' he says. 'I would never be happy again.'" ~The boy with the bread

"So after, when he whispers, 'You love me. Real or not real?'"
"I tell him, 'Real.'"~ Katniss and the loving Peeta

Follow Friday(4)

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Allison Can Read. It allows us bloggers to find each other easier and get further aquainted! :)
This weeks question:
If you could pick one character in a book, movie or television show to swap places with, who would it be?
My answer:
Hmmm... It would probably have to be with Nora from the Hush, Hush series because for 1. having a super hot fallen angel as a bf would be freakin amazing!! and 2. she is pretty cool in all that happens in her life. She has a loving mom, a hilarious best friend and just enough drama to make life interesting.

Dark Seeker by Taryn Browning

 Dark Seeker (Seeker Series)
Author: Taryn Browning
Pages: 298
Goodreads synopsis:
For 17-year-old Seeker, Janie Grey, ridding the Baltimore streets of the undead is an inherited duty passed down from her Cherokee ancestors. Seeker Training Lesson #1: Never trust the undead. After her father’s tragic death, Janie creates her own life lesson: Love isn’t worth the risk. Both lessons are easy to follow until she encounters the flawed Kai Sterdam. At first, she believes he is the hybrid she is trained to hunt. But, when he has human traits, she determines she doesn’t know what he is. As Janie’s intrigue over who Kai is pushes her deeper into his mysterious past, she discovers a shocking truth that is even more harrowing than the evil they are up against. It’s a secret Kai wants to keep hidden, especially from Janie.

Ok so I know my side bar says that my next review would be of Mockingjay but I got lucky enough to receive Dark Seeker by Taryn Browning from Miss Browning herself. After finishing it last night I immediately knew thaat this review just couldn't wait.

This book was AH-MAZE-ING!!!! Ugh, I couldn't stop reading it! Taryn created such a well put together book and vividly created each scene that you knew exactly where they were at the time, what it looked like, the smell, temperature, etc. I loved how it switched to Kai's point of view every now and then, giving his input and the deep down feelings he had. This book can't be put into words. I am seriously at a loss for words. All I can say is buy it, read it, and love it!! Sigh, ugh I keep typing then erase because no madder what I put it just can't seem to give the book enough credit. For sure on my favorite list!!
After I finished I was left giddy and only craving more. Please tell me there is going to be more!

Janie is such a kick butt chica (or sorry, seeker) and I loved her!! She is strong, funny, and lovable. Being a seeker it is her duty to slay the vampires and daychildren of her area. She has been in high school for eight years now and hasn't reached the age of eighteen yet. Seekers go through a cycle where they repeat 4 years at a time in order to continue their duty to hunt the vampires and daychildren. Daychildren are a vampire/demon hybrid that are far more dangerous and develop to be more of a threat.

The daychildren start breeding there own and cause havic for both the vampires, which are evolving only trying to fit in with the humans and maybe even be accepted, and also for Janie. Now they are getting brave, coming into  Janie's territory and attacking high school  students. And if Janie's life wasn't complicated enough....one day a daychild attacks star wrestler Matt and Janie saves him but thats not the complicated part. Sometimes if a Seeker saves the life of a human the human will Imprint on the seeker. Woah there!! sound familiar to all you twilight fans? Yupp but I gotta give credit to Taryn I love the way she switched it up and I loved it honestly it can't be even compared to Twilight so forgget I said anything. (Anyways) Kai and Janie join together to help fight the daychildren and put a stop to their devious plan.

Her mom Isabel was also a seeker and is always there for support, except when it comes to Kai. With the exception of  her two friends from school, all she really has is her mentor, Abram, and her mother. Janie told herselfthat she would never get close to anyone so that she would never have to feel the pain of loss because of her father's death. She saw how bad it effected her mother and never wanted to experience it herself. That is until she meets Kai. Kai rubs her every wrong way  at first. She can't sense when he is coming, which she is supposed to because he is a daychild, he holds many secrets, and he is infuriatingly stubborn. As time goes on she realizes he probably won't ever leave her alone and he can be trusted. An big shocker.....they fall in love!!! EEP!!!

I just love the romance between the two. They slowly but surely develop feelings that they are unsure about and finally just give in until....Bum..bum.....bummmmm... *Gasp* (Your going to have to read it to find out my reason behind this dramatization)

Kai...dear, sweet Kai. Ok so guess what? I got me a new fictional boyfriend to add to my list! Kai is a hot mystery. He is a daychild but why are his eyes green when they should be black? why does his heart beat when it should be dead? why can't Janie pick up on his scent? why does he have a different scent? why does he have scars when he should fully heal after battle? and why is he hunting his own kind? All these questions are finally answered and I fell in love just as Janie did....well maybe I can just switch places with her, I wouldn't mind some action in my life, a little romance ;) and hey if you switch up the letters a bit and add a "d" it could totally be my name... Janie=Jaiden! Vualah!! hehehe.

Anyways back to Kai.. he is an absolute sweet heart who lives with a guilty consciousness and doesn't want to be lonely anymore. He truelly "feels" for Janie and would lay down his life for her in a heartbeat. Again I love how further into the book Taryn gave his view on things every now and then because I truly got to understand him and fell even more in love with him.

All in all I highly recommend this book. I loved it and surely you'll love it too! Everything about this book screamed amazing! The whole story line, the battles, the complications, the romance. Oh! and the ending, I almost died of a panic attack!! Again I just loved, loved, loved this book! Huge props to Taryn Browning, an amazing author and person! One of my favorites and a Great on my list!

Now for some amazing swoon worthy quotes:
**Warning content may be spoilery:
"She lay on the floor, out of breath and staring up as he hovered over her. 'Done yet?' He smiled victoriously. 'Nope.' Janie rolled out from under him, scrambling
back to her feet. She squatted into a sweeping circular kick along the floor, taking his feet out from under him. He landed on his backside. She slid over to him and raised her arm, pretending to plunge a dagger into his skull. Kai swiped her knee out from under her and she landed directly on top of him.'How about now?' he said, their faces only inches apart."

"'Janie—with you, life is always interesting,' he said.'
I never know what you’re going to do next.' He balanced
on his bike and drifted backward. He smiled. 'You keep
me on my toes, Janie Grey.' The bike’s engine roared to
life. 'Later.' He nodded and took off in a flash."

"His lips moved to the corner of her mouth and
kissed her gently. He drew back. His words were
hesitant, shaky, 'Janie I—'
