A Fullout Devotion to the Iron Fey Series!

OK so Tuesday is the release of my most anticipated book: The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa. Julie has created such a wonderful world of the fey, amazing and beautiful characters, and a brilliant story line that I owe all sorts of credits to. These books are what brought me to re-discover my book obsession and love for fictional boys.

Ash is my first love and forever will be! To him I owe all my major swoons, cries, faints, and heart-aches. He is always in my heart, dreams, and thoughts. Every line made my stomach flip and my heart melt. After all the times I have read these books the effects he has on me never seem to wear off. If he were only real....

To Puck I owe my conflict in love. I do love him but like I said Ash is forever my #1 love. Puck made me cry, laugh, sigh, feel pain for and carry out my love for love triangles lol.

Meghan, she proved to be a strong, loyal and affectionate heroine. I loved her for her vulnerabilities, longing, and power. She always knew what she wanted and would do anything for the ones that she loved.

I just want to thank Miss Kagawa for giving me and readers such an amazing series! She easily became one of my favorite authors. The way she wrote, how she could take something that you barely payed attention to in the past such a significant factor in the future, the imagination, heart, humor, and cleverness she put into these books. I am sooo looking forward to the upcoming Iron Fey spin-off with Ethan and her new apocalyptic vampire series, The Immortal Rules. Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you Julie for these books! I honestly don't know what my book life would be without out you! I am a huge fan! :D

**Ok So now that I am done with shout outs here is what this post is all about...

The Iron King (Iron Fey Series #1)
Author: Julie Kagawa
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Pages: 363
Goodreads synopsis:
Iron. Ice. A Love Doomed From The Start.
Meghan Chase has a secret destiny; one she could never have imagined.
Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan's life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school or at home.
When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she's known is about to change.
But she could never have guessed the truth - that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she'll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil no faery creature dare face; and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart.
*Quick Review:
Like I said before this book is what re-ignited by passion for books. Everything about this book screams amazing. The world of the Neverever is beautiful, dark and enticing.

Meghan Chase was just a normal teenage girl struggling with the drama of highschool...or so so she thought. She is actually a half-summer fey of the Summer court. Not only is she part fey but a fey princess, daughter of King Oberon. Julie expertly throws in facts, stories, and characters from A Midsummer's Night Dream.

After her half-brother is taken she dives into the world she has never known other than a fairy-tale. Her best friend is not who she thought he was but the infamous Robin Goodfellow, court jester to King Oberon. Along the way she runs into Ash, the winter prince, third son of Queen Mab. A hot fey who Meghan quickly falls for but their love is forbidden. A summer fey and winter fey are to never mingle. They are eternal enemies not to be fraternized with. But who can deny destined love. Ash was to never love again but even he, being an emotionless; cold-hearted fey, can't push away his feelings. Puck, Meghan, and Ash all set out to find Ethan, Meghan's little brother, from the hands of the Iron Court. The very people who can be the downfall to the oldbloods. Stakes are higher than ever and danger is waiting at every corner.

I had so much fun reading this book and re-read it twice before I got the second one. I recommend these books to every one who loves a bit of love conflict, suspense, emotional ties and a whole lot of sexy! :)

Winter's Passage (Iron Fey Series # 1.5)
Author: Julie Kagawa
Pages: 59
Goodreads synopsis:
Meghan Chase used to be an ordinary girl...until she discovered that she is really a faery princess. After escaping from the clutches of the deadly Iron fey, Meghan must follow through on her promise to return to the equally dangerous Winter Court with her forbidden love, Prince Ash. But first, Meghan has one request: that they visit Puck--Meghan's best friend and servant of her father, King Oberon--who was gravely injured defending Meghan from the Iron Fey.
Yet Meghan and Ash's detour does not go unnoticed. They have caught the attention of an ancient, powerful hunter--a foe that even Ash may not be able to defeat....
I loved this short novella! It takes place right after the first book giving you an insight on what happened on their trip to the winter court. Their journey has been pretty smooth sailling except for Meghan's effect to the coldness there but other than that it was pretty good that is until the Big Bad Wolf shows up, literally. You know the one who stalked little Red Riding Hood, the immortal one? Ya that one. He was sent by King Oberon to save Meghan from Ash. Ash and him get into a bloody battle...bum..bumm....bummm.... Loved this little insight!!

The Iron Queen (Iron Fey Series #2)
Author: Julie Kagawa
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Pages: 359
Goodreads synopsis:
Love & Betrayal. A Faery World Gone Mad.
Half Summer faery princess, half human, Meghan has never fit in anywhere. Deserted by the Winter prince she thought loved her, she is prisoner to the Winter faery queen. As war looms between Summer and Winter, Meghan knows that the real danger comes from the Iron fey—ironbound faeries that only she and her absent prince have seen. But no one believes her.Worse, Meghan's own fey powers have been cut off. She's stuck in Faery with only her wits for help. Trusting anyone would be foolish. Trusting a seeming traitor could be deadly. But even as she grows a backbone of iron, Meghan can't help but hear the whispers of longing in her all-too-human heart.

This book takes place right after the small novella Winter's Passage. Meghan chase is now in the Unseelie Court due to her contract with the winter prince, Ash. The Winter Court is the last place any summer fey would like to be. She is constantly pestered by a pukka. Her feelings for Ash have to be hidden for showing them can mean eternal torture or even worse...death. Not to mention Ash, after everything they had been through together, is being even more far and aloof than when they first heart which crushes poor Meghan's heart.

Oh! and to make matter's worse... the season scepter has been stolen!! Now Meghan, Ash, and Puck set out on another adventure to find it but Ash stops short and brakes away from the group promising Meghan he would never see her again. Now her heart is in pieces but Puck is there to pick them up and try to meld it back together. Matters take an unexpected spin and erupt into chaos. Will Meghan and Ash's love pull through? Will the sceptor be returned in enough time to stop the war? The Iron kingdom is at its peak as a new king comes into play.

I loved seeing everything ravel into pure chaos and then slowly unravel as everything is playing out. I loved seeing Meghan and all the characters grow throughout the book and Puck never manages disappoint with his humor and surprise! his romance!! oo la la!!! *wiggles eyebrows* Speaking of never disappointing me.... Ash (despite his cold shoulder) made me swoon countless times throughout the book. I am with Meghan on my heart beat picking up speed every time his name is mentioned! I devoured this book in a days time! Breathtaking and suspenseful! LOVED IT!! :D

The Iron Queen (Iron Fey Series #3)
Author: Julie Kagawa
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Pages: 358
Goodreads synopsis:
Summer Fades. Ice Melts. Here's What's Left.
My name is Meghan Chase.
I thought it was over. That my time with the fey, the impossible choices I had to make, the sacrifices of those I loved, was behind me. But a storm is approaching, an army of Iron fey that will drag me back, kicking and screaming. Drag me away from the banished prince who's sworn to stand by my side. Drag me into the core of conflict so powerful, I'm not sure anyone can survive it.
This time, there will be no turning back.
Ok well I have already reviewed this book so I will just say: This book was freaking amazing!! Made me laugh. It made my heart skip a beat on countless occasions. And it made me cry....like a baby!!! I am so freakin ecstatic for Iron Knight!!!!!! :DBut you can find my review here: http://girlzandtheirbooks.blogspot.com/2011/09/iron-queen-by-julie-kagawa.html

Summer's Crossing (Iron Fey Series #3.5)
Author: Julie Kagawa
Pages: 72
Goodreads synopsis:
A Midsummer's Nightmare? Robin Goodfellow. Puck. Summer Court prankster, King Oberon's right hand, bane of many a faery queen's existence—and secret friend to Prince Ash of the Winter Court. Until one girl's death came between them, and another girl stole both their hearts.

Now Ash has granted one favor too many and someone's come to collect, forcing the prince to a place he cannot go without Puck's help—into the heart of the Summer Court. And Puck faces the ultimate choice—betray Ash and possibly win the girl they both love, or help his former friend turned bitter enemy pull off a deception that no true faery prankster could possibly resist.

This was my favorite novella of the two. You got an insight of Puck and his real thoughts and emotions. What he really feels, thinks, and wants to do. Here he has to assist Ash in a way he could never do himself. And Puck has a difficult desision to make: help poor ice boy or use him to betray him so he could be with Meghan. He even gets permission from King Oberon himself! This was big!! I wanted to slap Puck so freaking hard during this read....but thats all I am saying. I defintetely recommend these novellas if you have read the series...and even those who haven't yet then... STOP WASTING TIME GO PICK ALL OF THESE ASAP!!!! hehe well only if you want to...who am I to force it upon you?
