Follow Friday(9)

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee. Here we jump from blog to blog, answer a weekly question, and have fun! :D
This Week's Question:

What is your biggest pet peeve when it comes to books? Maybe you don't like love triangles or thin plots? Tell us about it!

My Answer:

Here are some of my pet peaves:

1. Where the main character is way too head strong and never shows enough emotions. I get the whole "I am strong and don't want to show any weakness'" thing but sometimes I think it is taken too far. I personally like when they show some vulnerability because it makes them seem more real and relate-able. For instance Katniss from the Hunger Games. I liked her in the first two books but the last one was way too much. She never showed that she really had any love or thankfulness to all that had died....those that had died to help her!

2.When the book jumps to one event to the other way to quickly without explanation.I get way too confused and end up having to back track...I hate having to back track. I get that Some events are not that important and can easily be overlooked sometimes or that it is a fast paced book but please...don't be to fast paced. I like to read and be able to create an image and develop some feelings every now and then.

3. CLIFF HANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahaha no I like these. These are a love/hate kind of thing. You hate them because you end up having to wait like a whole year to find out what happens and you want it like right now! But I love them because they keep me interested in what happens next and leaves me anticipating...making up all sorts of different scenarios... and then enjoying it 10x more when it comes out! :D Some Cliff hangers that I want now:

*Pandemonium

*Insurgent

*Bloodrose

&

*Book 4 of the Hush, Hush Series

AHHH!! I want these books like NOW!!!! Why is there so much of a wait! :/

  2. I agree with your frustration with a stubborn main character. Have you read Morganville Vamp series? I feel like that when the main character. New follower :)

  3. Hopping through. Thank you for someone giving the opinion that too headstrong can be a problem...not just too weak. Although I thought that Katniss was often weak and insecure. She worried so much but then she turned her mind off and acted. It annoyed me. Rose in Vampire Academy is even more headstrong.

  4. Delirium is just a cliffhanger as well as Divergent! Have you read The Mortal Instrument Series? I think Cassandra Clare is just the queen of cliffhangers! I don't really dislike cliffhangers I kind of have tolerate myself while read Clare's works :)

I see that your reading Die for Me? how is it so far? I really like that book~ it's very original and fun to read.

  6. I have a love/hate relationship with cliffhangers too. While I understand their purpose I can't help but get annoying whenever I'm left hanging.

  8. Okay I sooo agree on the first two! It's really annoying. I don't hate cliffhangers if done correct, since they can make me even more addicted to a story, but then it's got to be good too. Lol. I also prefer having the series at the ready. ;)

Have a great weekend! New follower. :) Find out what my pet peeves are!
